When Helen and Alistair asked us to make Helen's wedding outfit we jumped at the opportunity but I knew it was going to be tricky.
Printing ivory silk with black dye would make the best screen printer in the world anxious. 😬 It took my skills up a notch for sure.
But post printing and making the outfit was perfect….apart from one tiny blue escape-e. My heart sank when I spotted it- I’ll be honest, but Helen treated the imperfection with such respect and kindness seeing it as a sign of it being handmade and above all made by ‘humans’ We just loved this concept. So the blue dot became not an imperfection but perfection.

The colours are amazing, the fit perfect, the skill so apparent the moment you see it and the tiny blue spot just makes it even more precious (I’d seen it before your email and your words were my thoughts). Yet more evidence it was made by gorgeous living and breathing humans.
They are by far the coolest and fanciest pieces I will ever wear. Again and again and again!
I’m just going to enjoy staring at them for the rest of the day and I’ll save pictures for when the pieces are complete with shoes and earrings next week.
When I flipped the jacket around and put on the full blue, Alistair couldn’t stop smiling, laughing and exclaiming how truly special the whole thing is. We both giggled away like children.
We will be waking up in our lovely house together and driving with Blue together to the ceremony, no traditions here, so there was no need to keep the unpacking and trying on a secret from him but I shall keep it a surprise for everyone else.
