Earth Day at Sophie Darling
Today is Earth 🌍 Day.
I thought it fitting to tell you some of the things that we are doing as a brand to be more environmentally conscious.
•we make to order and try hard not to over produce
•we manufacture locally and we don’t use an off shore factory for any production (this is believe it or not very unusual for even small fashion brands)
•we use almost exclusively local labour
•we source sustainable fabrics wherever we can and check that our suppliers are transparent on their sourcing
•we use organic cotton ribs
•we use sustainable Corozo buttons
•we use eco Vera linings on our Koto jackets
•we recycle where possible using our fabric scraps for other products and donating excess to other crafters and sewing schools
•we deliver by hand in Brighton
•we do carbon offsetting using @carbonclick
Whilst as a small fashion business it is very hard to be fully sustainable, it doesn’t change our mindset to push for a more ethically made and eco aware philosophy.
It’s hard not to take our planet for granted. We know the destruction that fast fashion has and continues to cause and we are on a mission to push our industry towards a more sustainable mindset. As ever we thank you for your continued support of the independents as we all attempt to take on the endless corporations who put profits before principals.
As a call to action we should all re-assess what we shop and what we buy. We should be accountable, donate to charities, sign petitions, recycle, buy less and think differently.

Happy Earth Day Everyone!
